Marble Master Shower in Schertz
This master bathroom shower in a Schertz home off Schertz Parkway was a full tear-out and rebuild. The existing fiberglass surround was removed down to the studs, moisture damage was found in the lower framing, and the affected material was replaced before any new work started. The walls were covered with cement board and a Schluter Kerdi waterproofing membrane before tile went up.
The tile is a 12x24 inch white marble-look porcelain set vertically on the walls, which elongates the visual height of the shower. A built-in niche was framed into the back wall and tiled with the same material, with a small 2x2 mosaic floor in a matching white to provide grip without disrupting the overall palette. The grab bar was installed through the cement board into blocking added during framing.
