Gray Living Room Floor in Schertz
This living and dining room floor replacement in a Schertz home in the Northcliffe area covered a large open-plan space. The original 12x12 builder tile was removed, and the slab was checked for flatness before the new tile went down. Two areas needed self-leveling compound to bring the surface within tolerance for the large-format tile.
The tile is a 24x24 inch polished gray marble-look porcelain. At this size, lippage control is critical, and we used a tile leveling clip system during installation to keep adjacent tile edges flush. The layout was run from the center of the main living area outward so that cut tiles at opposite walls are balanced. Grout joints are 1/16 inch, which gives the floor a near-seamless appearance that suits the open-plan layout common in Schertz's newer homes.
