Copper Kitchen Backsplash in Selma
This kitchen backsplash in a Selma home used a 4x4 square tile in a warm copper and terracotta glaze range. The tile has a matte surface that absorbs light differently than a glossy tile, which suited the warm ambient lighting in this kitchen. Under-cabinet LED strips were already installed, and the matte surface created a rich, warm glow rather than the hard reflections a polished tile would produce.
The backsplash runs continuously behind the cooktop and across the full width of the counter run, including the section between the upper cabinets and the glass-front upper doors. Maintaining a consistent grout joint width across the full run required careful layout planning, since the distance between the countertop and the upper cabinets is not perfectly consistent in this kitchen. We established a center reference point and worked outward to keep the cuts at both ends balanced.
