Commercial Lobby Floor in Selma
This commercial lobby floor in a Selma office building near the I-35 corridor replaced an aging vinyl composition tile floor. The concrete slab was ground and leveled before tile work began. A patterned 24x24 polished porcelain in a two-color geometric layout was selected for the lobby, which required careful layout planning from the center of the space to ensure the pattern aligned symmetrically with the building's entry axis.
Commercial lobby floors see concentrated foot traffic at entry points, so the tile selected carries a high traffic rating and a wet DCOF above 0.42. The grout used was an epoxy grout for durability and stain resistance in a high-use public space. Work was staged across evenings and a weekend to minimize disruption to the building's tenants, with sections cordoned off as they cured.
