Beige Square Tile Bathroom in Universal City

Boho-style bathroom with beige square wall tile, floating wood shelf, black fixtures, and round mirror in a Universal City home

This bathroom wall tile installation in a Universal City home replaced an original builder-grade tile that had cracked grout lines throughout. The 4x4 ceramic tile was removed down to the drywall, which was in good condition and did not need replacement in this dry wall area. In the shower area, cement board was installed before new tile went up.

The new tile is a 4x4 matte beige ceramic set in a grid pattern with 1/8 inch joints. The tile runs floor to ceiling on the shower wall and extends to a picture-frame height on the adjacent walls, creating a consistent visual line that makes the compact bathroom feel taller. The floating wood shelf was installed by the homeowner after tile work was complete, with anchors through the tile and into the studs behind.
